Death toll in Cebu sea mishap rises to 104
MANILA, Philippines – The death toll in the collision between cargo vessel Sulpicio Express 7 and the MV St. Thomas Aquinas last August 16 has risen to 104 as of Sunday morning.
According to the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, of the 104 casualties, 99 are passengers, while five are members of the ship’s crew.
There are still 33 people missing, of which 26 are passengers and seven are crew members.
The recovered bodies – three women, two men and a little girl – were brought to the Talisay fishport. -- Report from Dexter Ganibe, DZMM
