SAF to decide if Napoles needs to go to hospital
MANILA - The Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) said members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) can decide for themselves if there is a need to hospitalize businesswoman Janet Napoles, who is currently under their care at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Branch 150 legal researcher Regina Rilloraza said this was decided earlier today when Judge Elmo Alameda met with lawyers and doctors of Napoles, who is being detained for serious illegal detention of her former assistant, pork scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
Alameda supposedly told them the SAF would be in a better position to decide whether to bring Napoles to the hospital, especially in cases of emergencies at night or during the weekend.
The judge said the court will just have to be informed immediately after. There was no discussion as to which hospital she will be brought to.
Dr. Ronald Licyayo, meanwhile, said Napoles is doing well despite experiencing anxiety attacks in the last few days.
Meanwhile, there is no information yet if Napoles’ arraignment will be transferred from Makati to Laguna.
The arraignment is scheduled on September 9. – from a report by Dennis Datu, dzMM
