MANILA, Philippines – Authorities have yet to rescue a businessman kidnapped on Tuesday in Marawi City.

Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Director, Superintendent Cosanie Derogonan, said kidnappers of Adbulcarim Magurang are possibly on the move to avoid policemen from pursuing the group.

Derogonan said police operations on the alleged hideout of the group yielded negative results.

On Tuesday morning, 5 men kidnapped Magurang who was on his way to a public market along Ampauan Street in Barangay Lilod Madaya.

The following day, the leader of the group identified only as “Kumander Agila”, demanded ransom amounting to P2 million.
