Bomb scare grips LTO in Davao
MANILA -- Work was temporarily disrupted at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) 11 in Quimpo Boulevard, Davao City Thursday noon due to a bomb threat.
Noli Gudin, officer-in-charge of the LTO Motor and Vehicle Inspection Station, said they received at around 12:30 p.m. a text message from someone who claimed to be a concerned citizen, saying that a bomb planted inside the station will explode.
A security guard then immediately locked the gate and prevented clients from entering the office.
Bomb-sniffing dogs searched for traces of explosives around the compound.
Even impounded vehicles and motorcycles as well as boxes containing old documents were checked by the K-9 unit.
No bomb was found.
Gudin suspects the threat could have been connected LTO director Virginia Torres' visit in Davao City today.
