6 CCTV cameras monitoring Janet Napoles
MANILA, Philippines - The CCTV cameras installed in the detention cell of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles in Fort Sto. Domingo, Sta. Rosa, Laguna are now operational, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Friday.
PNP spokesman Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac said that there are six working CCTV cameras inside Napoles' detention cell.
Sindac said the CCTV monitors will not be available for public viewing and would be utilized for the strict monitoring of Napoles, whose safety has been guaranteed by President Benigno Aquino III in exchange for her surrender.
The PNP had said taht CCTV cameras will be installed in the detention cell to ensure that the movements of Napoles inside the facility are closely monitored.
It assured that the CCTV cameras will not invade or violate Napoles' rights to privacy.
Meanwhile, Sindac said Napoles' lunch today consisted of adobong atay ng manok, rice and a slice of pineapple.
Napoles surrendered to President Aquino in Malacanang on August 28, the same day that she was transferred to the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
She was then transferred to the Makati City Jail and then to Fort Sto. Domingo last weekend.
