PAL cancels Zambo flights Tuesday
MANILA - Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Monday night said all of its flights going to and from Manila and the Zamboanga airport are again cancelled Tuesday.
PAL, in a statement, said aviation authorities have decided to continue the temporary closure of the Zamboanga airport amid the standoff between government troops and Moro National Liberation Front rebels who have attacked the city and have taken hostages.
The flight cancellations aim to ensure the safety of passengers amid security concerns in the city, PAL added.
"Passengers booked on these and the cancelled Sept. 9 flights are advised to call PAL/PAL Express Reservations - (02) 855-8888 or (02) 855-9000 - or proceed to any PAL or PAL Express ticket office for rebooking or refund assistance," PAL said.
The airline said rebooking penalties will be waived.
