Potential cyclone nears Visayas
MANILA – A potential cyclone continues to approach the Philippines, the state weather bureau said.
PAGASA said a low pressure area was spotted 830 kilometers east of Visayas as of 4 a.m. The LPA was embedded along the intertropical convergence zone.
PAGASA said Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Visayas and Caraga will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau said the public should prepare for thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
The brief but strong rains are caused by the warm weather during the day which causes the formation of thunderstorm-producing cumulonimbus clouds, PAGASA explained.
