Priest among MNLF hostages in Zambo
MANILA – A priest is one of the hostages of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), police said.
The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines, citing information from Zamboanga Peninsula Police spokesperson Ariel Huesca, identified the priest as Father Michael Ufana of St. Joseph Parish.
Huesca said Ufana has been under MNLF custody since Monday, the first day of the standoff.
Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco earlier said there are at least 170 hostages being held by the MNLF rebels in the city.
