Commercial flights to resume in Zamboanga
ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has lifted the closure order on the Zamboanga City Airport, citing the improving security situation in the area.
The closure order has been in place since Monday last week.
CAAP said based on the report of the local crisis committee, it is safe to launch initial flights since government have recovered 70 percent of rebel-occupied areas.
CAAP said two flights from Manila to Zamboanga City will be allowed to take off tomorrow and four more on Friday.
It expects the airport to resume normal operations on Sunday.
