A third trapped miner was rescued alive from a mining tunnel in Itogon, Benguet, before midnight Monday.
The third survivor was Jerry Munyobda, 23, a native of Ifugao. Munyobda was found by rescuers at the mine's level 700 -- the deepest part of the mine site -- past 11 p.m.
Munyobda was the third rescue miner from the mine's deep tunnel, which was blocked after a typhoon-induced landslide last week.
Rescuers recovered around 3 p.m. Jose Panio Jr. and Antonio Pagulayan.
Munyobda has been rushed to the Baguiog City General Hospital for treatment. The first two rescued miners were confined in the same hospital.
Media were not allowed to interview the survivors. But based on interviews on their relatives, Panio and Pagulayan recounted hearing faint cries from fellow miners still trapped in the tunnel.
The rescuers re-entered the blocked tunnel 1 a.m. Tuesday, hoping to save the 11 more trapped miners at the mine site's deepest level. -- Butch Mendizabal, ABS-CBN Baguio
