Possible LPA spotted near Mindoro
MANILA, Philippine – Weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a weather disturbance which may develop into a low pressure area (LPA) near Mindoro.
In an interview with dzMM on Saturday, weather forecaster Gener Quitlong said there is also a possibility that it may develop into a tropical storm next week.
Quitlong also said around 4 to 6 more tropical cyclones are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility before the year ends.
Quitlong added that most of the cyclones may hit land.
Typhoon “Lawin”, the 12th cyclone to enter PAR this year, is now out of PAR and is headed for Japan.
However, rains are expected in parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, due to the southwest monsoon (“habagat”).
-- Report from Nikki Delos Santos, dzmm.com.ph
