'Quedan' to exit PAR on Saturday
MANILA -- Tropical storm "Quedan" is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday morning, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA said Quedan, which continues to move over the Philippine Sea, was last spotted 790 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City as of 10 a.m.
It is expected to move at 17 kilometers per hour (kph) in a northward direction.
It is forecast to be at 740 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or 720 kilometers east of Taiwan by Friday morning, and out of PAR by Saturday morning.
Although the storm slightly intensified, now packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph, PAGASA said it is not expected to directly affect any part of the country.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 7.5 to 15 millimeters per hour (heavy to intense) within Quedan's 500-kilometer diameter.
