Typhoon 'Ramil' now inside PH area of responsibility
MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said typhoon “Danas” has already entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and was named "Ramil."
In its bulletin issued 5 p.m. Sunday, the weather bureau said Ramil was spotted 1,170 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes at 4 p.m.
It is packing maximum winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA said Ramil is forecast to move northwest at 26 kilometers per hour.
If it stays on track, Ramil is expected to be 800 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or outside PAR by Monday afternoon.
PAGASA said typhoon Ramil is not expected to affect any part of the country.
