Zambo court orders arrest of Misuari
MANILA - A Zamboanga court has issued warrants of arrest against Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chair Nur Misuari and his followers in connection with the siege last month in Zamboanga City.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima confirmed this, saying the warrants should have been issued yesterday had it not been for the suspension of work brought about by intense rains and floods in Zamboanga.
Misuari, his top aide Habier Malik, and 63 others are facing rebellion raps and violation of humanitarian laws.
De Lima earlier said she would ask the Supreme Court to transfer the rebellion hearings in Manila for security purposes.
She said she will also seek custody of more than 200 arrested MNLF men in Bicutan, Taguig. - from a report by Alex Calda, dzMM
