A news anchorman for a local radio station has been implicated in the death of an 18-year-old girl in Balamban, Cebu on Friday.

Witnesses said Cesar Montenegro of the Radyo Natin radio station was last seen entering a lodging house with the victim identified as Anita Rico.

Lodging house owner Joan Ngujo identified Rico's companion as Montenegro.

Police said sucide was the cause of Rico's death. Forensic doctors, meanwhile, declined to release the result of the autopsy on the victim's body.

Rico's father, on the other hand, believes that Montenegro killed his daughter, a claim belied by the police.

Police Officer 3 Selso Diaz said no foul play was involved in Rico's death. Aside from this, probers failed to find any wound or indication that the victim was killed by another person.

Montenegro, meanwhile, was nowhere to be found.

Police said that Montenegro has failed to come home to his house in Asturias town. With a report from Carmi Cavanlit, ABS-CBN Cebu
