MANILA, Philippines – Three people were rescued from their home when strong winds uprooted a tree that fell on an electric cable in Davao City on Monday night.

The current from the electric wire ran through the clothesline of the Maslog family in Green Meadows in Barangay Mintal, trapping the couple and their helper Merli Baclog inside their home.

The accident happened when strong winds and heavy rains toppled a Rambutan tree past 9 p.m. on Monday.

Urban Search and Rescue Team immediately cut off the electricity connection to prevent fire from breaking out. They also used a chainsaw to cut the tree that blocked the family’s gate.

The three occupants were rescued unharmed. Report from Hernel Tocmo, ABS-CBN News
