'Nina' exits PAR
MANILA, Philippines – Tropical storm “Nina” (international name: Prapiroon) left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Wednesday night, according to the state weather bureau.
In a weather bulletin issued at 10:30 p.m., PAGASA said the storm was last seen 800 kilometers (km) northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
It was spotted moving towards Japan at 15 kilometers per hour (kph).
It us expected to be 940 km northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or 240 km east of Okinawa, Japan Thursday morning.
PAGASA said Nina is carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness of up to 100 kph.
Nina, the 14th tropical cyclone to enter PAR this year, did not hit land and was downgraded from a typhoon to a tropical storm as it moved away from the country.
