Kin of toddler rescued from Quezon crash sought
MANILA – A baby girl believed to be a year old is one of the rescued passengers of the Superlines bus that figured in a multiple-vehicle collision in Atimonan town early Saturday morning.
The baby is now under the care of Barangay Kagawad Jun Paonil of Barangay San Juan in Atimonan, Quezon.
"Ang nakakuha po ay ang aming rescuers at itinurn-over po sa akin. Nasa akin pong pangagalaga," Paonil said.
Paonil said the baby, who is now at the Doña Marta Memorial District Hospital, sustained bruises on the head and body.
"Natingnan na ang bata. Ipapa-CT Scan kasi ulo po nadale," he said.
Paonil said the driver of the Superlines bus told him that the baby was with two other young siblings when they boarded from Manila. No adult companion accompanied them on the trip, he said.
"Tatlo daw ang magkakapatid. May 9 years old, yung panganay, at 7 years old, at ito pong 1 year old. Sabi ng driver ng Superlines ipinakisuyo sa kanya," he said.
However, Paonil said no one knew the baby when he went to different hospitals in the town to look for her relatives.
Parents or relatives of the baby may get in touch with him at the Barangay Hall Zone 1 Poblacion through the following numbers:
"Maputi po ang bata, malusog po, kulay ng damit kanina medyo brown na bulaklakan nung nakuha sa bus. Binihisan ko na po ito. Nag-provide na po kami ng gagamitin ng bata," he said. -- Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
