MANILA -  A Cebu Pacific plane scheduled to fly from Iloilo to Manila Wednesday morning was stalled after a bird apparently got caught in one of the plane's engines.

A report from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said Cebu Pacific Flight 451 was scheduled to leave Iloilo Airport at 6:45 a.m. when it encountered mechanical problems.

CAAP officials said a bird might have gotten caught in one of the plane's engines, causing the malfunction. It said migratory birds are abundant in the airport at this time.

Cebu Pacific management said the plane's 138 passengers took the 11 a.m. flight to Manila.
