Bgy polls in Bohol, Zamboanga set on Nov 25
MANILA - Special barangay elections will be held in Bohol and Zamboanga City on November 25, the Commission on Elections said Tuesday.
This comes less than a month after regular elections on October 28, Monday.
The poll body deferred local polls in Zamboanga City after a three-week siege by Moro National Liberation Front fighters affected thousands of residents.
In Bohol, local officials requested the postponement as the province continues to recover from last week's deadly quake.
Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said elections in Cebu will push through next Monday. He said the poll body will also be distributing flyers on earthquake preparedness and use sturdy ballot boxes during the elections.
Jimenez warned voters that they cannot take pictures of their ballots after filling it up. He said taking pictures of ballots will only be allowed before the ballots are filled up. With a report by Zyann Ambrosio, ABS-CBN News
