DPWH chief visits Zambo to hasten rehab efforts
ZAMBOANGA -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio Singson visited Zamboanga City on Saturday to meet with local officials.
Singson, together with architects and project planners, went to Barangays Sta. Catalina, Rio Hondo and Mariki where the fierce fighting between the Nur Misuari faction of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and government forces took place.
According to Singson, President Benigno Aquino III instructed them to look at how they can rehabilitate the city as quickly as possible.
They are expected to come up with a master plan and identify where they can relocate the residents displaced by the standoff.
