Re-electionist barangay captain nabbed in drug bust
ILOILO -- A re-electionist barangay captain of Barangay Talokgangan, Banate in Iloilo was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police at around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Barangay captain Rodolfo Baldemor Sr.; his son, Rodolfo Baldemor IV; and a relative, Cresenciano Badinas Jr., were arrested after selling two sachets of shabu to a PDEA poseur-buyer.
Seized from the suspects were nine sachets of shabu, the P1,000 marked money and a cell phone used for illegal drug transactions.
Baldemor, who is running unopposed in the upcoming barangay polls, admitted using illegal drugs but denied selling them.
According to PDEA 6, the suspects had been under surveillance for three months.
The younger Baldemor also belongs to the priority target list of PDEA this year, authorities said.
