Mall manager murdered in Cavite

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A 50-year-old operations manager of mall giant ShoeMart was murdered by a still unidentified suspect while waiting for a ride in Bacoor, Cavite Tuesday morning, police said.
Senior Superintendent Alfred Corpuz, Cavite police director, identified the victim as Glenn Clemente, a native of Albay, Bicol and presently residing in Block 3 Lot 18 Phase 6, Kudarat St. Bahayang Pag-Asa, Molino 5, Bacoor, Cavite.
Clemente was about to report for work and was waiting for a ride infront of ML Building in Molino Road when the gunman approached him from behind and shot him with still unknown caliber around 7:45 a.m.
Probers said Clemente died on the spot after sustaining five gunshot wounds in different parts of his body while the suspect escaped with a companion towards unknown direction on a motorcycle.
Initial investigations revealed that the slay case could be connected with politics since the victim was a known financier of his brother who is planning to run for re-election as vice mayor in a town in Bicol province
“Patuloy pa rin ang ginagawa naming imbestigasyon para matukoy ang iba pang posibleng dahilan sa pagkakapatay sa biktima,” Superintendent Renz Ortilla, Bacoor police chief, said.
