9 Pangasinan fishermen remain missing
MANILA -- Nine fishermen from Bolinao, Pangasinan are still missing two weeks after they went out to sea.
The fishermen were last seen on October 14, when they left to go fishing.
According to Lt. (JG) Frederick Gacasa of the Philippine Coast Guard, they tried to go farther out to sea to look for the fishermen.
"Pinuntahan nga natin yung 110 nautical miles west of Bolinao. Actually, lumampas pa tayo ng 120 miles para ma-check baka lumagpas sila. Kaso, wala," he added.
The Coast Guard is looking at other factors, such as the direction of the wind.
"Iba nga yung hangin. Pa-eastern ang hangin dito ngayon. Baka nasa Vietnam na sila," Gacasa said.
The Coast Guard also made an aerial inspection over the West Philippine Sea to look for the fishermen.
They have coordinated with their other stations in case the fishermen were found in other areas.
