Ferry vessel with 22 people stranded near Camotes Island

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday morning launched rescue boats to fetch 22 occupants of a ferry boat that was stranded at sea near Camotes Island after experiencing engine trouble.
Commander Antonio Quasico, chief of staff of the Second Coast District, said M/V April Rose's engine stopped while sailing near Camotest Island around 1:45 a.m.
Quasico said ferry vessel came from Baybay, Southern Leyte and was expected to arrive in Cebu around 5 a.m. The ferry vessel remained floating near the island as of 9 a.m., he added.
The PCG official said he dispatched rescue boats to the ferry vessel to fetch its 22 passengers and crewmen.
