A barangay councilor and a watchman were killed when five armed men attacked a barangay hall in Calamba, Laguna Saturday night.

Police identified the fatalities as San Cristobal barangay councilman Armando Ramos, 49, and chief village watchman Alfred Alinsunuren, 33.

Investigators said suspect Levi Adolfo was also killed in the incident.

Witness Police Officer 1 Alvin Manguiat said he was with Alinsunuren in front of the San Cristobal barangay hall when the incident took place at around 6:30 p.m.

He said Adolfo arrived at the hall, looking for the chief watchman. When Alinsunuren introduced himself, the suspect pulled out a gun and immediately shot the victim.

Manguiat said this prompted him to shoot the suspect.

A barangay vehicle, boarded by Ramos, immediately responded to the scene.

However, several suspects posted nearby opened fire at the barangay mobile, instantly killing Ramos.

The remaining suspects immediately fled onboard a Tamaraw FX after the shooting.

Police, meanwhile, recovered a fake police identification card from Adolfo.

Investigators are still probing the motive of the attack. With a report from Ruel Timbol, ABS-CBN Calamba
