MANILA - Six members of a family, including 4 minors, were wounded when a grenade exploded in their house in Cotabato City Monday past noon.

The victims were allegedly just taking their lunch in their house at Purok Imba in Barangay Rosary Heights 7 when the explosion happened.

The wounded victims included 4 minors identified as Bai Lani Sampulna, Bai Unggi Sampulna, Bai Pua Sampulna and Riza Bai Laguia. The other persons wounded were identified as Umisalam Laguia and Filma Abdul-Adziz..

Initial police investigation revealed that the grenade was thrown by a still-unidentified suspect who was onboard a motorcycle and allegedly carried a caliber .45 pistol.

The victims said they thought a stone was thrown on their roof but afterwards a powerful blast followed. The explosion destroyed the roof of the house of the victims.

Police said that the incident could be related to a “rido” or family feud that the victims had in the town of Talayan in Maguindanao province.

All the victims were taken to a hospital and were undergoing medical treatment.

Police meanwhile were continuing their investigation. With a report from Halima Satol, ABS-CBN News Central Mindanao
