LANAO DEL NORTE - Members of a suspected rogue Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) group bombed two transmission towers of the National Grid Corporation in Barangay Tinging-tingin, Kauswagan town before dawn Thursday.

Senior Inspector Nestro Ortiz Jr., Kauswagan town police chief, said the first bomb toppled NGC's Tower 1 around 2 a.m.

Ortiz said witnesses saw at least 20 suspected members of a rogue MILF group planting the bomb on Tower 1.

Minutes later, the same group allegedly bombed Tower 28, which was located only a few meters away from the first transmission tower.

Ordnance investigators said the bombs were made of 81mm mortar.

NGC Corporate Communications Specialist Elizabeth Ladaga said the bomb attacks failed to disrupt power supply in the province.

Last October 2, Kauswagan town and other neighboring municipalities in Lanao del Norte province were hit by a massive power outage after an unidentified group bombed an NGC transmission tower in the same village.
