Gunmen ambush bus; 2 passengers die

ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE - Two passengers died and 8 others wounded when a group of gunmen ambushed a provincial bus in Gutalac town on Wednesday.
Police and military reports said an ALGA Bus Lines unit with place number JVD 792 had just left the town proper when it was strafed by gunmen in front of the Canuto Enerio Elementary School in Barangay Salvador around 3 a.m.
The Armed Forces' Western Mindanao Command said two passengers died on the spot and 8 more were rushed to Liloy District Hospital.
It said the shooters could have mistaken the bus for their target because the area was very dark at the time of the incident.
