LTO official, brother shot dead in Iligan City

LANAO DEL NORTE - A Land Transportation Office (LTO) official and his brother were killed in an ambush in Iligan City, Thursday morning.
Police identified the fatalities as Ali Datumanong, assistant district officer LTO-Iligan City and Akrab Datumanong, his brother.
Investigations said two motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed the victims while on board their Isuzu Crosswind on Alcuizar Avenue in Barangay Tubod around 8:15 a.m..
The Datumanong brothers were on their way to the LTO office when the ambush took place. The victims died at Doctor Uy Hospital.
Senior Superintendent Bernardo Reamon, Iligan City police chief, said they are initially looking at rivalry for the LTO district office's top position as the possible motive of the killing. With a report from Noel Alamar, radio dzMM
