Lightning kills 2, injures 12 Negros sugar workers

Two people were killed while 12 others were injured when lightning struck a group of sugar plantation workers in La Castellana, Negros Occidental Tuesday night.
The fatalities were identified as Jobert Rio and Disoy de la Cruz.
Of the 12 injured, four people are in critical condition.
The victims were sugar plantation laborers working for Hacienda Kamansi-Gonzaga in Barangay Robles.
The group were having supper under a tent during the height of a rainfall when they were hit by lightning at around 7 p.m.
Concerned citizens rushed the victims to the nearest hospital after the incident.
