SURIGAO CITY - An earthquake rocked Butuan and Surigao cities Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology-Surigao reported.
 
The tremor struck at 6:28 a.m. and was felt at Intensity 3 in Butuan City and Surigao City. Phivolcs-Surigao Head Daphne Agonia said the earthquake was tectonic in origin.

She said she does not expect the tremor to cause damage to property.
