TACLOBAN CITY- Three local schools in Eastern Visayas has been named the best sustainable and eco-friendly schools in the region, according to the Environment Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 8.

The Tongonan Kananga Elementary School won on the elementary level, San Policarpo National High School on high school level and the Visayas State University on the tertiary level.

EMB-8 Regional Director Letecia Maceda said the awarding is part of their campaign to promote environment conservation among the youth.

A separate search will be conducted on the national level. The awarding for the national level will take place at SM North Manila in Quezon City on November 19, Thursday.
