MANILA - It seems there is no stopping the senatorial bid of former Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

During the 54th birthday party of his sister, Imee, the former congressman gave away free stickers, comic books that detailed his life story and a pinwheel that bore his likeness.

Marcos said his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, had ordered the pinwheels from a shop in Divisoria, Manila. He said the pinwheels symbolize the windmills he had built in Banggi, Ilocos Norte, which now provide clean energy in the province.

Marcos said at least three political parties have invited him to join their senatorial slates including the Pwersa ng Masa, Nacionalista Party and Nationalist People's Coalition. He added that he will remain with the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan "but will have to join a party I'll ally with before the filing of certificate of candidacy."

The former congressman also dismissed talk of a possible Bayani Fernando-Imelda Marcos tandem for 2010. "My mother is also 80, let her rest," he said.

Marcos is the son of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos.
