2 killed, 9 hurt in Quezon blast
MANILA, Philippines – Two people were killed and 9 others were injured in an explosion in a store in Barangay Abuyon, San Narciso, Quezon on Tuesday.
Investigations by FO3 Emiliano Alcala of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) showed that the store’s owner, Rolando Espelita, was joking around with a friend when he accidentally caused a fire in the store's gasoline storage area, triggering the explosion.
A 12-year-old girl, Reslie Anne Rivano, and 26-year-old Irma Pinid were killed in the blast.
Nine relatives of Espelita were wounded.
Authorities now in pursuit of Espelita, who allegedly fled after the incident. -- Report from Edwin Sevidal, dzMM
