Baguio's most wanted drug lord falls
MANILA, Philippines -- Baguio's most wanted drug ring leader was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a buy-bust operation on Monday, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr. said.
The suspect, identified as businessman Arthur Nider Sr., 53, was listed as No. 1 on the PDEA Regional Order of Battle.
The notorious Nider Drug Group leader was arrested by the PDEA Regional Office-Cordillera Autonomous Region (RO-CAR) agents after selling two grams of shabu worth P12,000 to a PDEA poseur-buyer in Apugan, Upper Irisan, Baguio City.
Seized from the suspect were a cellular phone, a wallet containing assorted ATM Cards, the marked money and a sports utility vehicle which the suspect used in his illegal drug transactions.
Nider is now detained at the PDEA RO-CAR Custodial Facility and is facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, another notorious drug pusher was arrested on November 10 by PDEA agents in Toril, Davao City.
Suspect Marconi Ambrosio, 39, was Davao City's No. 4 Target Listed Drug Personality.
Ambrosio is now detained at the Davao City Police Station.
