MANILA, Philippines - Millions worth of property went up in smoke after fire razed a foam factory in Marilao town, Bulacan province, Tuesday night.

Superintendent Absalon Zipagan of the provincial fire bureau said the blazed started around 2:30 p.m. at the Solar foam factory in Marilao town.

Zipagan said welders were fixing an acetylene tank when a stockpile of insulator foams went ablaze.

He said the fire was declared under control around 5 p.m., but the blaze went up again.

Zipagan said they failed to immediately put out the rekindled fire because water supplies of almost all of the fire trucks have been used up.

The fire trucks left the area to refill and returned past 11 p.m.. The blaze was declared out past midnight.

Fire officials have yet to assess the damage from the fire. -- Report from Jasmin Romero, ABS-CBN News
