A team of investigators from the National Electrification Administration (NEA) has started looking into the case of the termination of Sulpicio Lagarde Jr. as a Negros power cooperative executive.
Lagarde was terminated Central Negros Electric Cooperative general manager (GM) by its board.
Vicente Sabornay, CENECO board president, said the team from the NEA Administrative Committee would be in Bacolod City for three days.
Sabornay believes however that the NEA team may not have necessarily come to conduct an investigation.
He explained that they find no compelling reason or necessity for NEA to validate their decision to terminate Lagarde.
"Well, they may be here just to validate what had happened during the management tour of Mr. Lagarde because we are accusing him of many violations," Sabornay said.
He said Lagarde hoodwinked the CENECO board in matters concerning the affairs of the cooperative that they lost their trust and confidence in him, leading them to vote for his termination on November 4.
"The former GM hoodwinked everybody, he persuaded us to believe without explaining to us that we will be accused of tactical malversation of public funds if we touch on this restricted fund," he added.
In a text message, Lagarde said he will only answer the allegations of Sabornay once the NEA has released the results of its investigation.
