At least 30 villages in Ilagan town in Isabela province were submerge in floodwaters due to heavy rains on Friday, forcing the provincial government to place it under a state of calamity.

The Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council in Isabela said the 30 villages went under floodwaters after the Cagayan River overflowed. The council said it has been raining in the province since Monday.

The council said that aside from the villages, several ricefields were also flooded.

Reports said residents were forced to use boats during evacuation, which started around Friday noon. Darlene Gemino, ABS-CBN Isabela
