Four people, including a three-year-old boy, died after a bus rammed into a car on a highway in Santa town in Ilocos Sur province, before dawn Saturday.
Police identified the fatalities as John Cue, Susan LLanes, Felecisima Cacaitan and three-year-old Ramon Gabriel.
The victims were on board a car when a Partas bus crashed into them along the national highway in Barangay Namalangan, around 5 a.m.
Cue, who was driving the car, and Llanes died on the spot while Cacaitan and her adopted son died in hospital.
Dr. Glenn Battad, 31, who was among the occupants of the car, was injured in the crash.
The police have arrested bus driver Rey Aldesa, who claimed that the road crash happened because the car took his lane.
Aldesa told the police that he wasn't able to evade the car because it was driving too fast.
The police, however, said the bus driver would still be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and frustrated homicide. -- ABS-CBN Laoag
