Mangudadatu files COC
MANILA - Tension was high at the provincial capitol of Maguindanao as Buluan Vice-Mayor Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for governor on Friday.
ABS-CBN News correspondent Jorge Cariño reported that the government security forces, who are now in physical control of the provincial capitol in Shariff Aguak, doubled security because of the expected filing.
Cariño reported that the Philippine Army's 46th Infantry Battalion under Lt. Col. Joel Paloma has been split into two to provide security for Mangudadatu's convoy and the family of the Ampatuans.
Mangudadatu was reportedly accompanied by Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilbert Teodoro at the provincial capitol.
Cariño reported that Mangudadatu's convoy left his residence in Buluan town around 9 a.m.
In an interview with ABS-CBN's Umagang Kay Ganda, Mangudadatu said he will file his candidacy under the Lakas-Kampi-CMD, ending speculations that he was bolting the ruling party to join the Liberal Party (LP) of Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
"Ako ay Lakas-Kampi na noong provincial board member pa lang noong 1995. Lakas-Kampi pa rin po ako (I have been with Lakas-Kampi since I was elected as provincial board member in 1995. I'm still with Lakas-Kampi)," he said.
Mangudadatu's wife and his two sisters were killed along with more than 54 other people, including journalists, while they were on their way to Shariff Aguak to file the COC Monday morning.
The Lakas-Kampi-CMD was to field Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr. for governor, but was expelled from the ruling party after the massacre.
Ampatuan Jr. has been arrested and is to be charged with multiple murder cases for allegedly ordering the massacre.
LP stalwart Franklin Drilon revealed on Wednesday that Mangudadatu was supposed to be adopted by the party and endorsed as its gubernatorial candidate in Maguindanao before the massacre happened.
Drilon had said that Mangudadatu was still welcome to join their party if he decides to bolt Lakas-Kampi-CMD.

Gibo is stealing the limelight and took advantage of the situation in Maguindanao. Mangundadatu was filing his COC under LP but Gibo took the limelight away and played as a Godfather to Mangandadatu. I don't know about this but I don't want to think that this is going to be another landslide in Maguindanao come 2010 election. Gibo ang kapal mo dahil you don't have any authority to hold any witnesses pero bakit kinuha mo?

Para sa mga tao walang magawa at mag find faults, Where are your favorite politicians? Im keeping my options open.. With this tragedy what actions did SEN. NOYNOY, SEN. MAR, SEN. VILLAR, Former PRES. ESTRADA, Mr. NIKKI PERLA, SEN. ESCUDERO and other politicians do to solve this problem? We need to know para malaman natin sinong nagtatarabaho at sinong duwag.. We need to see ACTIONS! they are working with the government diba? aside from all those resolutions made by them? what more? theses are just papers.. NO ACTION! Mindanao is also part of our country.. Dont just hide there under the tables in the senate and congress go over here and HEAR or PLEAS!
In my own opinion, Media plays an important role.. To lessen the blood shed in our country the MEDIA should be FAIR.

lets not find faults.. we need solution to problems.. The next president should be someone who is afraid of NO ONE! Hindi natatakot e taya kahit na ang sariling buhay maka pag silbi lang sa bayan. A MAN with action not just talks and resolutions.. This is our country we are talking about. This is not Showbiz.. With the media, BE FAIR..

humingi ang mga Mangudadatu ng security escort to secure them along the way to Shariff Aguak dahil ramdam nila ang pilegro pero denied ang request nila, dapat sibakin din ang opisyal na tumanggi dito kasi baka kasabwat din sya kaya di nagbigay ng security escort. hindi rason ang busy, wala silang trabaho kundi pangalagaan lang naman ang siguridad ng mamamayang nangangailangan ng kanilang serbisyo.

Why is Gibo Teodoro so interested in getting Toto Mangudadatu to stay in his party? Akala ko ba, Liberal na siya? I wonder what's the deal between them? Gagamitin ba rin siya ng administrasyon para ma-zero na naman ang opposition sa Maguindanao? By getting the Mangudadatus, this administration only abets the proliferation of warlords in Mindanao.
If it is serious in solving this problem in the area, it should suspend all local executives in the province, and disarm all its private armies. The law of the land should be applied to all the provinces of its republic, and not give special treatment to those who have delivered millions of votes for the administration in the past elections.

Eto na naman ang mga politiko at pinag-aagawan si Mangudadatu. Ang mangyayari dito, mananalo siyempre si Mangudadatu as governor. Tuluyan ng babagsak ang mga Ampatuans. Sa mga susunod na taon, iko-consolidate ni Mangudadatu ang kapangyarihan niya by appointing yung mga kamag-anak niya sa iba't ibang posisyon sa Maguindanao. Sila ang magha-hari ngayon sa Maguindanao at ang mga politiko ay hihingi ng tulong sa kanya pagdating ng eleksiyon (assuming alam na nilang mandaya sa computerized election). And then one day, another VP from a difference clan will vie for the post of Governor. What do you think Mangudadatu will do?
Here's hoping it won't be what the Ampatuans did.
