MANILA, Philippines - Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao on Monday thanked his colleagues for supporting and honoring him, even as HE defended his recent victory over Juan Manual Marquez from criticisms.

In a rare privilege speech before the plenary, Pacquiao said people may have gotten used to having lopsided victories from him.

He also said his victory is proof that Filipinos will prevail against all odds.

He also thanked his colleagues who watched the fight live.

"Napakarami niyo," Pacquiao said.

He added that instead of asking why he won, people should be asking why Marquez lost.

The House approved a resolution honoring Pacquiao for his victory against Marquez.

Pacquiao defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title by beating Marquez in a majority decision last November 12 in Las Vegas.
