16 kilos of cocaine seized from Davao City wharf
MANILA, Philippines - Police have recovered at least 16 kilograms of cocaine from several container vans inside Sasa Wharf in Davao City, an official said Friday.
City police chief, Senior Superintendent Ramon Apolinario, said 8 kilograms of cocaine were discovered by a technician of the Maersk Shipping Company while working on a container van around 9 a.m. Thursday.
After receiving the report from the technician, Apolinario said more searches were conducted on Friday inside the shipping company's container yard, and they recovered 8 more kilograms.
The drugs were seized from two container vans separately shipped to Davao City from Malaysia, the police chief said.
He said the drugs packages were consigned to the shipping company. With a report from Noel Alamar, radio dzMM
