MANILA, Philippines -- The bodies of 10 fishermen who went missing during the onslaught of typhoon "Pablo" in Mindanao last week have been retrieved by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in General Santos City.
According to the PCG, a total of 331 fishermen went missing in various provinces in Mindanao after their boats capsized due to huge waves caused by the typhoon.
To date, the PCG and the Philippine Navy were able to rescue eight fishermen from General Santos City, three from Davao Oriental, 13 from Surigao del Sur and eight fishermen from Sarangani.
Three fishermen remain missing in Davao Oriental while eight fishermen from Surigao del Sur are still reported missing. In Sarangani, 15 fishermen still remain missing.
The PCG said search and rescue operations are still ongoing. -- Report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
