MANILA, Philippines – The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas is strengthening its campaign against loose firearms especially this holiday season.

PRO-6 director chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz reminded all Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel in the region not to engage in indiscriminate firing during the celebration of Christmas and New Year.

Camp Delgado officials in Iloilo sealed all service firearms of PNP personnel Wednesday morning.

On January 4, 2013, Cruz will inspect police service firearms  to determine if they fired their guns during the holiday season.

Cruz has warned policemen that they will be sanctioned if they will violate the guideline.
