MANILA, Philippines – A businessman’s Christmas vacation plan was spoiled when he found out that his house in Tierra Nevada Subdivision in Cavite province was emptied by robbers.

Alexander Ragas said he was planning to clean his house so that he could take a vacation there. But he was taken by surprise when he saw that his door and windows were destroyed.

“Nagulat kami, nakakalat [ang] gamit. Sobra ang ginawa, bakal ang pinto nagiba,” he told ABS-CBN News.

Alexander Ragas was not able to go home to Genreal Trias town in Cavite for several weeks because he was busy with his business in Manila.

There were also scattered things left in Ragas’ second floor. But most of his appliances were taken by the robbers.

“Ang daming nawala, TV, DVD, vacuum cleaner. Marami pang iba, electric fan,” he continued.

Ragas found out with the household help of his neighbors that the robbers also reside in Tierra Nevada Subdivision.

The 2 suspects, both aged 17, admitted that they robbed the house of Ragas. They went on to say that they immediately sold all the things and appliances they took from Ragas’ residence.

“Pinangkain po namin, pinambili po ng bigas,” said one of the suspects. The 2 teenage suspects were charged with robbery. Meantime, authorities are looking for the suspects’ 2 other companions.

Authorities reminded those who will be going on vacation on Christmas and New Year to make sure that their houses are secure, if no one will be left at home to guard them. With a report from Wheng Hidalgo, ABS-CBN News
