P150K worth of firecrackers destroyed in Zambo

MANILA, Philippines – Firecrackers with an estimated worth of P150,000 were destroyed by authorities in Zamboanga City Saturday morning.

The firecrackers were destroyed in a local dumping site in Barangay Lumbangan Zamboanga City in an operation initiated by the Firearms Explosives Security Service Agency and Guards Supervisory Section (FESSAGS).

Senior Inspector Raymond Samson said the firecrackers were confiscated by different law enforcement groups in Zamboanga City.

Most of the seized goods were stacked at a prohibited storage facility and were supposed to be shipped to Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-tawi.

Samson said firecrackers were confiscated in the province as early as December 3.
