Tremors hit Southern Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines - Three tremors hit Southern Mindanao over the weekend with epicenters located near Mati in Davao Oriental province.
An earthquake of Intensity 2 shook Davao City and Tagum City Saturday at 1:09 p.m..
Engineer Eleazar Giorgo, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology officer-in-charge in Davao City, said the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 54 kilometers southeast of Mati. The quake was measured at Intensity 1 in Tarragona, Davao Oriental.
Another tremor occurred at 2:59 p.m. Saturday and was measured at Magnitude 5.1. The epicenter of the second quake was reportedly at 26 kilometers southeast of Mati. The quake was felt at Intensity 2 in Padada, Davao del Sur and Digos City.
A third earthquake occurred 4:52 a.m. Sunday and was measured at Magnitude 4. The epicenter of Sunday’s tremor was located at 36 kilometers southeast of Mati. It was felt at Intensity 2 in Mati.
