Multi-awarded actress Cherry Pie Pichache said she's very happy about being part of ABS-CBN’s television series “Iisa Pa Lamang.”
In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Pichache said she’s really thankful that she was entrusted with a villain role that she’s actually not used to portraying.
“Yes of course I’m very grateful that I’m entrusted with this kind of role,” the actress said.
Pichache said that since she’s not always doing "bad girl" roles she takes her character in the series as a challenge, she added that as an actress she has to show how effective she is as a ‘contravida.’
The actress described her character in the said series as ‘hostess of the year’ wherein she will do everything to get what she wants – money.
“Dito parang hostess of the year, kasi parang she’s the woman of the world. Ginagamit niya ang lahat-lahat sa kanya ang katawan niya lahat- lahat ang anak niya, lahat, to achieve what she wants, ganoon siya kasama,” explains Pichache.
In “Iisa Pa Lamang,” Picache portrays the character of Isadora Castillejos, the mother of Miguel (Diether Ocampo), who is the great love of Catherine Ramirez (Claudine Barretto). Isadora, being a bad old gold-digger, is the reason why her son and Catherine parted ways. She’s the main reason why Catherine decided to seek revenge.
Picache hopes that viewers will continue to support and watch the series, which she described as ‘one of a kind.’
“Matagal nang hindi nakakakita ang tao ng malaking teleserye na big drama plus my love story, politically-motivated, iyong iba ba. mayroon ding nakakatawa, so nakaka-miss na makakita ng ganitong drama,” she said.
Picache who is blessed with so many projects and awards said that she’s really happy with what is happening now with her career.
So when asked of how she manages her busy schedules, she replied: “Okay naman, kasi sa ngayon ‘Iisa Pa Lamang’ ang ginagawa ko so okay naman.”
Pichache also shared that right now she is preparing to do two films. She is also in the cast of Ai-Ai delas Alas' latest movie.
"Kasama ako sa cast ng "Ang Tanging Ina Niyong Lahat" for the Metro Manila filmfest. Nag-start na iyong shooting at may guest role ako doon abangan nila,” Picache said.
She said that she’s really happy working with Ai-Ai and the film’s director Wenn Deramas. Picache is also part of the independent film “Boses”, where she stars with actor Ricky Davao.
