8 more Pinoys arrive from Haiti
MANILA, Philippines - Eight more Filipinos evacuated from quake-ravaged Haiti arrived in the Philippines on Thursday.
The 4th batch of repatriates arrived around 6:30 a.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on board a Philippine Airlines flight.
One of the repatriates, Ariel Bagading was a casino manager in Haiti. He said he is planning to return to Haiti once the situation there has normalized.
Maila Trinidad, another repatriate, who worked in a supermarket in the calamity-stricken country, said she will never return to Haiti and will just stay in the Philippines with her family.
Jason Anasaria, the Philippines' vice consul in Havana, meanwhile, said that they will continue assisting stranded Filipino evacuees from Haiti.
The government has pledged to provide assistance to Filipino repatriates, who are not planning to return to Haiti to work. With a report from ANC
